This special 5-day workshop developed by Raphael Macek May 09/10/11/12/13 - 2018  for a unique experience at his side. The Workshop was structured for those who have photography as a hobby and are passionate about horses and for those who want to deepen and develop the profession in this area.

These 5 days will be divided in a theoretical part where Raphael Macek will share his experiences and knowledge of a career of more than 15 years, and 3 practical days where students will have several situations to develop a creative look, always allied to the technical part of photography, with the supervision of Raphael Macek and his team. At this workshop all the participants will have the opportunity to photograph amazing horses (Friesians / Thoroughbred / Irish sport horses) in two different stables and at one of the most beautiful beaches in Australia to experience and put in practical all the techniques learned on the workshop.

The workshop is limited to 12 participants and they will be able to know the techniques used by Raphael Macek in horse photography, to learn how to compose a good image, lighting techniques (natural and artificial), the horse photography market, main techniques and adjustments, morphology, characteristics of several horse breeds and the practice of photography from the preparation of the animals to the finalization of the images (post production in Photoshop).

During the Workshop all the participants will have the opportunity to explore the local area of Queensland and have a great time with Raphael and his team having the best experience from this beautiful place in Australia.

Raphael Macek is considered one of the best photographers in the world and a specialist in horse photography, with publications of his images on several covers and articles of the most important magazines worldwide, artworks exhibited in the main galleries and art fairs, and has more Of 30 international awards in photography contests, graduated from the Masters of Fine Art program in New York and produces works in several countries such as United States, Canada, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, France, Africa, United Arab Emirates, India, Portugal, Spain, Argentina and Brazil.

Equipment:

  • Semi professional or professional digital cameras.
  • Lenses of preference with zoom up to 100mm or more.
  • Monopods and Tripods are optional.
  • Laptops to follow the post production techniques and to download images taken in the course.
  • Participants who own their own portfolios Raphael Macek will do an analysis giving tips and exchanging experiences.
